AIRCRAFT
American Medflight utilizes four Piper Cheyenne
aircraft full dedicated to air ambulance
operations. These aircraft are twin engine
turbo-prop all weather aircraft capable of
reaching cruising speeds of over 300 m.p.h. They
are pressurized and climate controlled, capable
of flying above most weather which produces a
smoother and more comfortable patient and crew
flight experience. American Medflight maintains
a meticulous safety record of operations with
years of experience in pilot operations and
aircraft maintenance. Our aircraft are
maintained by our on-site maintenance department
available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for
immediate response. The aircraft maintenance
department has one of the most seasoned teams of
aircraft mechanics in the western region
specializing in Cheyenne and turbo prop aircraft
with the goal to keep the aircraft operating at
the highest level of safety.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
American Medflight uses the Life Port Plus
patient loading system, making the transition
from ground ambulance to the aircraft seamless
and safe for both the patient and crew. Unlike
other loading systems that require the flight
and medical crews to lift, twist and turn the
patient to manipulate them into the aircraft,
the Life Port system allows the flight crew to
simply slide the patient into the aircraft
without changing the patient position on the
gurney. The Life Port Plus loading system can
also safely manage the heavy neonate units with
ease and comfort, thus helping our most precious
of patients.
In addition to the Life Port Plus, all aircraft
are equipped with medical equipment and drugs to
provide the highest level of critical care
intervention to help the patient remain
stabilized throughout the flight and treat any
changes in the medical condition of the patient
that may occur. Advanced Life Support (ALS)
equipment includes:
 |
LP-12
Monitor capable of delivering/monitoring
Defibrillation/Cardioversion,
